Introduction to Educational Technology course reflection.

I did not have an initial reaction to this course. I felt stressed and drained throughout most of it due to the fact that I was taking another course and work became extremely busy. All parts of the course were useful; I particularly enjoyed researching different types of technology and creating a proposal to purchase them. I would've benefited by some examples or more detailed explanation of what was expected for the Copyright/Fair Use project.

I learned a great deal about
  • Smartboard technology
  • Responders
  • Using Facebook in the classroom
  • Copyright laws
  • Teacher technology needs.

This was a very informative and useful course. I enjoyed learning from and interacting with Dr, Luongo and all my classmates.

Digital Video

I chose to develop a lesson for uploading and editing digital video in IMovie. I targeted the lesson to high school teachers who may not have experience working with digital video. In completing an assignment for Dr. Z's Intro to Distance Learning class, I polled teachers and several said that they'd like to integrate digital video and video cameras into their classrooms, so its seemed to me that a course/workshop for teachers would be helpful.

The lesson should be preceded by a lesson about capturing digital video and using the cameras and should be followed by another workshop for publishing video and navigating YouTube.

I am not in a position where I would teach this course currently. The biggest challenge in creating this course in the recent updates to iMovie that I needed to become acquainted with.

Here is an example of a video I recently created.
